Have you ever wondered why your hairdresser is able to achieve completely smooth, frizz free hair for you every time you go to get your hair done? Well, they know a few secrets! And we’re here to share them with you.
As we wave summer goodbye and reluctantly enter the cooler months, not only the temperature drops but also the humidity and the moisture in the air, leaving both our skin and hair much drier and frizzier.

Here are a few tips to maintain that perfect salon hair at home:
- Always brush your hair with a wooden comb or brush. Plastic ones encourage static, especially in winter so avoid them.
- Use a moisturising shampoo and conditioner regularly throughout the week. Follow up with a leave-in treatment, mask or a detangling spray as often as needed or at least once a week.

Oils Ain’t Just Oils

Oils have been used as part of the beauty regiment for centuries. Historical records dating back to antiquity tell us about the uses of oils in rituals, healing, cosmetics and perfumery. Cleopatra not only used oils as part of her beauty regimen but also drenched the sails of her barge with rose water.
From olive oil to pure essential oils, the variations and the choices of oils are endless. The uses of oils in the beauty routine are as varied as the number of oils available. So too are the benefits of the oils on the face, body and hair.
Most oils these days are from botanical origins and have individual properties that will help to leave your skin soft smooth and supple and your hair healthy, shiny and moisturised.
How to apply oils
Oils should be used along with a good moisturiser not instead of. Moisturisers hydrate the skin while oils will nourish it. So oils are best used at nigh, while during the day moisturisers are recommended.
When you are applying oil to your skin make sur it is just after you have washed and cleansed your skin or just had a shower as oil spreads best on moist skin. It will also help the oil be absorbed better and spread more evenly.
Benefits of oils
Essential oils are very concentrated and should always be diluted before use on the skin. Carrier oils are used for this purpose and are typically vegetable oils. Each carrier oil has different properties and the choice depends on the therapeutic benefit being sought. Unlike essential oils, carrier oils do not evaporate or impart their aroma as strongly as essential oils. Carrier oils should be natural and preferably cold-pressed. This ensures that the therapeutic qualities remain in the oil and have not been damaged by heat or chemicals. Below is a list of the most commonly used carrier oils.
Sweet Almond oil,
Aroma: Light, slightly sweet and nutty
Notes: Sweet Almond oil is a good all-purpose carrier oil and is moderately priced. It is cold pressed from the almond itself. Is good for dry itchy skin as it’s conditioning, emollient, softens and smoothes the skin.
Apricot Kernel oil
Aroma: Faint
Notes: Helps skin retain it’s elasticity, suppleness and clarity so it’s perfect for anyone with prematurely aged, dehydrated or irritated skin. Also great to reduce inflammation, boils and burns.
Avocado oil
Aroma: Medium. Somewhat sweet, fatty and nutty.
Notes: It may overpower a blend if not used in a small dilution. High in vitamins A, D, and E. It softens skin and aids in cell regeneration. It is often used in products for sensitive skin and skin masks.
Grapeseed oil
Aroma: Light, slightly sweet with a hint of a nutty aroma.
Notes: It works well as a lubricant and is perfect known for its rejuvenating and regenerating qualities. Very high in antioxidants and contains high amounts of vitamin E, vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, and vitamin D. Excellent as moisturisers, hand creams, body creams, and lotions
Jojoba oil
Aroma: Light to medium in aroma, not as sweet as the nut oils. The aroma is distinct but pleasant.
Notes: Jojoba “oil” is actually a wax. It is a more expensive oil and is frequently blended in a small dilution with other oils. It has a very long shelf-life and is the closest to the skins own naturally occurring oils making it an excellent choice for dry, mature skins.
Macadamia Nut oil
Aroma: More fragrant than many other nut oils and has a very sweet, nutty aroma.
Notes: It is high in monounsaturated fatty acids, and closely resembles sebum (the oil naturally produced by ones skin to help protect it). Macadamia oil is a fabulous, protective oil with a high absorption rate and has been successfully used as a healing oil for scars, sunburns, minor wounds and other irritations.
Olive oil
Aroma: Typical aroma of olive oil used in cooking (smells somewhat like olives).
Notes: It is cold pressed from the olive itself and is great to retain your own natural moisture. Is an excellent softener for the skin.
Rose Hip oil
Aroma: Mild, earthy aroma.
Notes: It is excellent in treating many skin conditions. It is expensive and is usually blended in a small dilution with other carrier oils. Very high in vitamin C therefore it I perfect to even out skin tones, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and help in the skins healing process.
Oils to use
Once you have selected your carrier oil, it is a personal preference what oils you will mix
into your blend. One of the most popular oils is lavender oil (In Essence Pure lavender Oil 9ml $16.95) as it is very calming, helps ease muscle tension and promote a peaceful sleep.
If you are not very adventurous or not sure what you like, try a pre-blended oil. One of my personal favourites is (In Essence Precious Perfume 9ml $31.95) A delightful blend of jasmine, neroli, orange, rose otto and Australian sandalwood.
However if you really don’t want to bother mixing your own oils there are some fantastic choices of quality oil blends available both for face and body. For the face try (OP
Therapy Facial Oil 22ml $29.95) This unique blend of eight natural oils (including emu oil) and plant extracts renowned for their nourishing, firming, healing and restorative properties, helps to nourish, rehydrate, heal and restore dry, sensitive skin. Contains Damask rose essential oil (for redness) and Australian sandalwood (for hydration), it smells divine and is wonderfully enriching and soothing for even the most sensitive skin.
For the body you can’t go past (Ahava Multi Vitamin Dry Oil – Mandarin and Cedarwood 120ml $45.00) A remarkable blend of light, nourishing oils that absorb rapidly, imparting moisture to skin without leaving an oily reside. Loaded with vitamins, antioxidants and dunaliella algae extract, this treatment helps combat the signs of ageing while restoring skin to a soft, silky, supple condition. Essential oils of mandarin and cedarwood enliven the senses.
It was in the 19th century that scientific research established the fact that essential oils kill micro organisms. Today we are simply adding scientific evidence to an age old practice of uing essential oils in our everyday lives. Today oils are widely used in the aid of health, relaxation, wellbeing and cosmetics. They are well recognised to assist the concentration, performance and productivity of the workplace and create ambiance in the home.
So discover your favourite smells and oils and reap the many benefits.

Olay Total Effects+ Anti-Ageing Eye Cream
April 14, 2009 by admin
Olay Total Effects+ is loved by women all over the world for fighting 7 signs of ageing on the face. Now, with the introduction of its new power-packed Anti-Ageing Eye Cream, Olay Total Effects+ helps fight 7 signs of ageing around the eye area.
Fortified with Olay’s blend of vitamins and moisturisers, the Anti-Ageing Eye Cream helps to combat multiple signs of skin ageing around the eye, including evening out skin tone in the eye area via providing an instant glow and enhancing radiance overall.
Size: 15ml
Price: $29.95 AUS
Availability: Priceline, variety and grocery stores.
Overall Star Rating: ![]()
This eye cream is the latest addition to the Olay range and I have to admit that it is an excellent product. The texture is very light and the eye area feels instantly moisturised after application.
The cream contains tiny light – reflecting particles that help to brighten up the eye area instantly. It is also low fragrance making it suitable for the more sensitive skins. I enjoyed using it very much and so did our panelists.
![]()

This eye cream has a lovely texture and great consistency. It’s also a huge plus that it’s fragrance free. The area around my eyes felt immediately moisturised and make-up application was perfect. The eye area did have a ‘glow’ as the moisturiser has light-diffusing particles in it.
I’d definitely buy this product again as it is great value. A little goes a long way. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks both morning & night and have barely made a dent in the jar.
![]()

This light apricot coloured cream contains very fine golden light-reflecting particles that claim to improve radiance. While I cannot comment on its effectiveness on signs of aging such as lines & wrinkles (given my age) it does a good job of moisturising and provides a good base for under eye concealer during the day.
The eye area looks more supple and refreshed. It is fragrance-free, non-sticky, very easily absorbed and only a tiny amount is needed each time. The huge 15g jar is likely to last many months, thus making this product excellent value for money.
![]()

I have used eye creams in the past, seen no benefits, and eventually stopped using them, but the claims made by the Olay about this cream made it sound fantastic!
I used the eye cream every morning for a week and noticed that the skin under my eyes was softer and my eyes were slightly less puffy. I also found that my eye make-up applied much easier if I applied the eye cream beforehand.
There isn’t a strong scent to the product and the texture is a light cream that is easily absorbed into the skin. This product is probably the most effective eye cream that I have used and I would purchase this product for myself because of the reasonable price tag .
![]()

I do not normally buy Olay products as I feel they are very over packaged. However, I like this product so much I will definitely use it again. It has a light fluffy texture and is almost fragrance free. It moisturises the eye area without leaving it greasy. I suffer from very dark circles and after a few days of using this product I can see an improvement in that area. I think my skin looks brighter and I look more awake .
![]()

The jar was about half the size of the packaging with very thick glass. I initially found having tiny glittery particles in an eye cream a bit disconcerting but did find that it brightened up my eye area. I used this for about 6 days and found my eyes less puffy. It was nice to use and I may keep using it.

This body cream is an excellent moisturiser that contains a subtle shimmer. It is perfect for those lovely summer dresses that show a lot of skin as the shimmer really highlights your tan and gives you a lovely glow.
Make sure you smell the product before purchasing as the smell is what bothered some of our panellists.
![]()

I was really excited to try this cream with shimmer. It was very creamy but it was absorbed quickly into the skin not leaving it oily. It made my skin very shimmery and left a light tan, so I found it best to use on my legs. It had a lovely coco smell, leaving the skin silky smooth. I will defiantly be buying this product again. For a shimmer cream I give it a 5 Star rating.
Personal Rating: 5 Stars

This moisturiser looks pretty similar to the other Palmer’s products as the container is similar and the size of the gloss is very generous for the price! It is very easy to apply, smooth and not greasy and very comfortable on the skin and no clumps with the shimmer.
The colour is shimmery and I think it is too shimmery for me in daytime. Probably it would be better for night use. The texture was very smooth and the smell is not too strong and really pleasant. I find some Palmers products are too strong in the smell of cocoa butter but this product was surprisingly pleasant .

It’s a standard ‘body glow’ product using glitters. I associate Palmer’s with their typical cocoa-scented body lotions. A very summer-y looking product. I find the application to be effortless, just like a standard body lotion. The shimmer/glitter was very fine so I couldn’t really tell the areas that I’ve missed, which is good in a way. It is quite subtle. You would have to wash your hands afterwards to avoid glittery palms.
The lotion itself is colourless, however the glitter particles are silver-ish. I would personally prefer a gold-ish glitter as it will go better with my skintone and lend some warmth. I think silver will be good for paler skin, though. The glitter is fine and non-gritty, and as such is not too obvious and looks ‘teeny-bopper’ish. The smell is a faint yummy cocoa, which doesn’t bother me. The lotion is a good consistency, not too runny/ gluggy. It spreads well. This would be a good product to have particularly in summer to enhance my tan and in the evenings. I would purchase this again.

I noticed it was a very generous size. Unfortunately, as soon as I opened the lid I wasn’t too fond of the scent. I found it quite overpowering. It is very similar to the cocoa butter scent of the other Palmer’s products, which I don’t like either. The product was easy and quick to apply but it did leave a very obvious glittery/shimmery mark on my hands which didn’t wash/rub off very easily.
The glimmer was quite nice when applied – ideal for a flirty night out (or in).The texture was very nice, it dried quickly and wasn’t sticky. Like I mentioned before, the smell was not to my taste, but if you like the cocoa butter scent of the other Palmer’s products you would enjoy this. I would give this 2 stars due to the overpowering scent and the glittery remnants that get left on my hands after application.

Unfortunately I was not impressed with this product at all. It was like so many others on the market. I didn’t like the smell at all I didn’t feel good applying it to my skin.

This cream to powder compact foundation is the perfect product for the busy woman. In one easy step your foundation is on. It is a cream formulation that glides onto the skin very comfortably and turns to powder, giving you a comfortably matt finish.
It did not go shiny at all on my T-zone and a few of our panellists appreciated this fact too. For the price this is a fantastic buy even if you just need it to touch up with during the day.
![]()

I’m thoroughly surprised just how great this product is. Foundation is normally one makeup product that I don’t skimp on – only Chanel, Laura Mercier, Yves Saint Laurent, etc ever go near my skin. This Australis compact provides a smooth cream to powder finish that’s completely blendable and flawless. There is neither the dreaded powdered mask look nor any heaviness on the skin that cream compacts can often feel.
My skin is definitely going through a good patch at the moment, it is very clear, but still it’s far from perfect – eg. it can be quite blotchy & uneven in the morning. Yet very little of this foundation is needed to smooth the texture and provide a flawless finish. Of course nothing beats compacts for super speedy application in the morning and for easy touch ups. Only a couple of negatives. 1) Only 4 shades available so a good match may be hard to find. 2) The sponge, while providing a good finish, leaves a latex smell that lingers for a short while. Otherwise excellent value for money!
![]()

I’m not really a foundation person at all, so I was a bit sceptical about using this product. I have tried liquid foundations but never a ‘cream to powder’ foundation before – and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Application took a little experimenting. I initially thought the colour might be a bit too dark for me (Discreetly Beige), but when applied lightly it was perfect.
My face didn’t feel like it was ‘caked’ on with product and it lasted throughout most of the day. And I loved that it has a 15+ SPF – great for day wear. I was worried that my skin may dry out, but this didn’t happen and my T-zone stayed shine free. I would buy this product again maybe in a different shade as I think it is excellent value at $13.45. The packaging of the foundation was excellent. I carried it with me in my handbag.
![]()

I wasn’t sure how matte the product would be, considering it looks like a cream in the compact. I struggle with oily skin so I was worried that this would make my skin look even oilier throughout the day. The foundation goes on smoothly and like the description claims, it turns to a powder finish. The shade I received suited my skin as it is still quite tanned from summer, however I may not be able to wear it into winter when my skin goes fairer.
I used this product for touch ups to my already made-up face throughout the day and it had much better coverage than the compact powders I usually use. The texture is quite unusual in the compact, it’s a heavy cream similar to some concealers, however it applies beautifully. I found that it didn’t cake too much even though I was applying it over the top of my regular foundation.
I was initially concerned that it might not be matte enough for my oily skin, however it did a great job of keeping me shine free. The compact contains a sponge that does a great job of applying the product. You can use the corners of the sponge to apply foundation to tricky parts like under your eyes and your nose. Definitely one for the desk drawer.
![]()

I had not used a powder cream foundation for ages as my skin is quite oily and I find they do not usually suit me. However, this product is great. It glides on beautifully with the sponge provided and blends very evenly.
It is very light and natural and it was hours before I found I needed a very light touch up. The colour was perfect for me and I had several comments about how fresh my skin looked. As I always try to choose products with an SPF, I will certainly use this one again. It is excellent value.
![]()

This foundation has quite a plain packaging with a very thin application sponge. I found that this foundation didn’t really suit my skin type as it didn’t really set properly and was a bit flaky on my drier cheeks. Even after 30 mins on my skin it was still coming off on my phone and glasses.

A very pleasant moisturiser for the day time. This is a light weight, non greasy lotion that is a great product for under makeup. Our panellists were divided on the smell of the product, so make sure it suits you before purchasing.
It would have been nice to see a higher SPF in the moisturiser, however if you don’t spend much time out of doors it is adequate for infrequent sun exposure especially coming into winter.
The pump pack was also appreciated by our panelists, showing that more cosmetics companies should follow suit and create more hygienic packaging for their products.
![]()

The bottle impressed me with the pump, making it easy to use. The pump also can be turned to prevent product coming out, which is great for travelling. The application was really easy, with the pump top. The moisturiser pumps out in good small sized amounts, so too much won’t come out in one go. It is a light formula yet extremely moisturising.
The texture is great, really smooth and it absorbed into my skin perfectly. As with the MAC cleanser, the smell is very pleasant making the product great to apply. I would definitely purchase it again; the fact that it has an added sunscreen would be the deciding factor. I would give it 5 Stars. This is the nicest moisturiser I have used, it really is great.

This is a nice product but I don’t like the nozzle that dispenses the cream. You have to pump it a few times to actually get the amount you need to use on your face. It’s a good product, light, not oily, which you sometimes find with creams that have SPF 15.
So it goes on nicely under makeup. MAC do things right, the texture is light and the smell is practically non-existent which is how moisturisers should be. I didn’t like it as much as the cleanser but I would probably use it again.

Personal Rating: I was very impressed with the pump bottle featuring a lock cap design. The product spreads very easily and evenly, probably due to the high silicon content. Non greasy and leaves no white cast, soaks straight into my skin. Excellent as a makeup base, although it did not make my foundation stay on longer then usual.
The pump bottle is hygienic and ensures no overflowing of product. Its very light in texture, with a creamy consistency. I find the fragrance a bit overpowering. I would not purchase it again because it does not provide adequate sun protection for the Australian climate (especially if you are outdoors a lot).
Although it contains zinc oxide, it is at a minimum, being the last ingredient listed. I give it 4 Stars, although overall it is a dream product to use, pity it does not provide enough sun protection.

I like how the product came in a sleek, plastic pump, which also has a lock, so it would be ideal to take when travelling. However, I found that I had to pump the tube many times for the product to dispense the first time. The product was well-absorbed, and my skin felt quite moisturised and plump. It was easy to apply my foundation over the top of the moisturiser. I think it would be a perfect moisturiser for normal/combination skin types to use in the colder months, since it is not too heavy, and provides adequate moisture.
I found the product to have quite a strong scent. The smell of the product still lingered a few hours after I had applied it, even though I had applied foundation and other makeup on top. However, this could be due to the fact that I had applied the moisturiser on my neck as well. The moisturiser had the texture of a thick lotion, most likely due to the sunscreen in the moisturiser.
I would definitely purchase this product if it had a lighter scent, or came fragrance free. However, I believe in always wearing a daytime moisturiser with sunscreen, so this is a product that I would use in the future as a moisturiser during winter, since it has broad spectrum protection with SPF 15. However, for my skin type, in summer I would prefer to use a daytime moisturiser with a higher SPF factor and with a much lighter texture .
Personal Rating: 4 Stars

I loved that this moisturiser is in a pump bottle as it saves you from dipping fingers into the cream which is unhygienic. As with the MAC Cremewash which is in the same style packaging I really liked the packaging. The application of this was very easy as it is in pump form but I did find the pump only dispenses a small amount so I needed quite a few pumps to cover my face & neck area. I didn’t like the fragrance of this product at all.
It smelt almost soapy! I also found the texture wasn’t very creamy and didn’t feel very nourishing on my skin. Unfortunately I didn’t find this product benefited my skin at all, I didn’t see any of the results it promised. I would not purchase this product in the future.
I would only give this product 1 Star; I had high hopes seeing as it was a MAC product and they have a great range but I didn’t feel it did anything for my skin.

A fantastic creamy foaming cleanser that is an absolute joy to use. It foams up beautifully, feeling very gentle and soothing on the skin without any feeling of dryness.
It has a lovely fresh scent to it and comes in a handy tube making it easy to use both in the shower or at the basin. As noted by all our panellist, you only need a small amount for each use making it a long lasting product.

It’s such a luxurious texture, it feels beautiful on the skin and a little bit goes a long way. I found it beautiful to apply; it’s so creamy and moisturising. It doesn’t dry out the skin as some other cleansers can do. As I said the texture is very creamy and there is a nice light scent, which I like.
Having sensitive skin I don’t like using highly scented products on my skin. The price is very reasonable; I would most definitely use it again. You only need such a small amount to cleanse the skin that I can see a bottle lasting at least 3 months making it only about 10c a go.

I use MAC Cosmetics, and believe it is one of the best makeup lines, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from their skincare. The cleanser comes in a tube, and the sleek packaging is similar their cosmetics line. I found that a little goes a long way with this cleanser. I only needed to apply a tiny drop of this cleanser to cleanse my face and neck, since it lathered up really well.
Afterwards, my skin felt well-cleansed, but did not leave my skin feeling stripped dry compared to when I’ve used other foaming cleansers in the past. For my skin type, I would probably use this cleanser during the colder months of the year, since I felt that it helped to keep some moisture in my skin.
I really liked the smell of this product, since it had a pleasant, fresh scent, but was mild enough so it was not overpowering. I also enjoyed the texture of this product, since it worked into a creamy lather, almost like whipped cream, rather than a watery, sudsy lather. I would definitely purchase it again, I enjoyed the creamy lather and fresh scent of the product, but I also like the way my skin felt afterwards. I think that this product works out to be very good value for money.

I thought the cleanser was great. The packaging was appealing and the fragrance was really pleasant. My first impressions were that I was really going to enjoy using it, and I was right.I found that a small amount of the cleanser goes a long way, as it lathered up quite a lot. However, once I rinsed it off, my face quite tight and slightly dry.
The texture feels slightly whipped, and is really creamy and smooth; it felt great on my skin. The first thing I noticed about the cleanser was how nice it smelt, it is really pleasant to use. I would strongly consider purchasing this product again, it is a fantastic cleanser. I would give it 4.5 Stars. I love the cleanser, but it was slightly drying, otherwise I would give it a 5.

Very sleek, tube design featuring the signature MAC black and white colours. It foams up quickly and easily with water. The lather is very soft and feels like souffle! My face feels fresh and squeaky clean (but not dry) afterwards. It does not leave an oily film on the skin as some traditional “creme” cleansers do. Also a little goes a long way so I only needed the tiniest amount. However, this does not remove my makeup very well and is hard to control the amount of product that comes out. It has a very fine, creamy texture and has a light, pleasant fruity fragrance which reminds me of freshly cut watermelons! It’s great as a daily cleanser but I would suggest removing makeup first in the evenings. I give it 4 Stars, I’ve taken one star off for not being able to remove makeup efficiently .

I thought the packaging was great on this product; it was very modern and new. I thought the product size looked quite small but when I used the product I realised you only need a small amount for each application. The application was very easy as the product is in a tube so I just squeezed out the required amount and followed the instructions on the tube.
When I opened the product I noticed it had a fruity & fresh fragrance which was appealing. It also had a silky, creamy feel to it which felt very uplifting during the application. After using the Cremewash my skin felt clean and moisturised even before I applied moisturiser. I really enjoyed using this product and found it was effective in removing make up and daily build up on the skin’s surface.
I would consider purchasing this product in the future if I needed/wanted a change from my current cleanser. I would give this product a 3 Star rating as it did all the things it claimed to on the packaging. I think it would be great if it was available in a larger tube so as not to have to buy a new one as often .

What more could you want then a beauty product that only requires one minute of your time. The first thing you notice about the scrub is the size. It comes in a very generous 400g tub that is amazing value for the price.
The smell is very refreshing too and I enjoyed the sea salt as the exfoliating agent. The lovely Ayurvedic extracts in the product are a definite plus for me. I am happy to recommend this scrub for you to try.

This product was certainly value for money, the best I have ever used. So quick and easy, one minute scrub. What more could you want. Great to use, you can tell the difference as soon as you come out of the shower. Your skin is smoother, and tingly. One of the best exfoliating products I have used.
*
![]()

This is a very good exfoliant, and you only have to use a small amount. The texture is a bit coarse so I used a very gentle massage action and my skin felt clean, smooth and better toned after use. Personally I prefer a body scrub from a tube rather than dipping in a tub but on the whole it was a good result. The lemon smell was very refreshing.

I loved this product; it reminded me of a body massage or polish from a beauty therapist. I would say that this product is not for everyone, I found that it could be too harsh for sensitive areas eg: lower neck, breasts, and I only needed to rub very gently. It left an oily residue, which disappeared, but maybe not everyone would like it.
I didn’t mind it as I suffer from very dry skin on my legs, hips and upper arms in winter, so I want to try this in winter to see if it helps. It smelt nice, just like a professional massage. My feet, legs, hands and arms improved with regular use, especially my feet, the hard skin on the heels was softened and felt silky smooth. When using this product in the shower over my feet and legs, I had to be careful as it did make the shower floor slippery.

I found this scrub a bit messy and needed to stand in the shower. It gave a great exfoliation and skin felt smooth and renewed. I would buy it again as I feel it is good value as you could get a number of all over scrubs from the tub.

I found this product to have a natural, fresh fragrance and was easy to use whilst in the shower. I found that it definitely did leave your skin feeling revitalised and refreshed, succeeding in doing what it claimed to do “remove dead skin”. It also had a moisturising effect on your skin. I did find however that after drying the areas that I applied it to, my skin became quite tingly and somewhat itchy; this obviously, may not apply to all who use it. If I could eradicate the itch I would definitely purchase this product for myself .

A brilliant mascara in a sea of mascaras. It is very hard to know which would be the best to try. This mascara is fantastic especially when you consider the price. The primer works well coating the lashes and the colour applies easily over the top without clumping or smudging.
I found it best to let the primer dry for a minute or so before applying the top coat and once on, the lashes I didn’t need a second application of colour. It gave me very distinct looking and definitely thickened lashes. This mascara was truly a pleasure to use.

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!
Finally a “boost mascara” that actually does what it claims to do. After using many competitors’ versions of this type of mascara, I was thrilled to find a mascara that actually does appear to enhance my lashes without leaving them stuck together or with big clumps of mascara on them. I think this is excellent value and would absolutely buy it again and again. I give this a big 10 stars out of 5 if that’s possible.

Great mascara, I loved the white wand at one end. I think this is a good idea. You can thicken the lashes before you apply the black finishing touches. I will buy this again, I haven’t got long lashes, but I could see a big difference. I think this was great value for money. I would recommend this to my friends.

As I have fine short lashes this mascara worked really well and gave the fullness and volume that I always want. It went on easily with no lumps. I would buy it again as it is cheaper than others on the market.

I usually have my eyelashes tinted as I find mascaras too messy, clumpy and they leave panda eyes on me. This mascara was very easy to use, it did boost my eyelashes a little, and the mascara was smooth to put on and didn’t clump or stick my eyelashes together and I didn’t get panda eyes. The only down side was that it didn’t last all day from 06-30 am to 6-00 pm. It would be good for a night out, with no panda eyes the next morning. This product was easy to use without being messy, I would like to use it more and it seems reasonable value for money.

I found the application of the mascara easy enough once you wait for the primer to dry. I found the fragrance a little disagreeable and my lashes felt a bit stiff after application.

Personally I loved this lipstick. The texture of it was so smooth when I applied it and it stayed smooth and creamy right up till lunch, when I had to reapply it.
I really felt the lipstick moisturise my lips which are normally quite dry. It is a very nice product and it is great to see a sunscreen in the lipstick. Especially at this price it is a must try product..

I usually use lip gloss so I was interested in trying a lipstick. It was a great product because it just glided on my lips and felt very much like a gloss. The colour vas quite sheer and it had a nice sheen to it. The application was easy from the twist-up tube and a nice change from the usual glosses I have. The texture of the lipstick was also very pleasant in that it was creamy and very moisturising and the colour lasted on my lips a lot longer than any of my glosses. At this price I will be getting myself a few more colours from the range.

The packaging looks fun and modern, as opposed to sleek/classy. It comes in a typical twist-up tube. Application is effortless. There was no dragging/tugging on my lips to get the colour to spread evenly. It is creamy and felt moisturising on (and even after I took it off). I was able to apply straight from the tube for an even application.
One swipe provides sheer colour and it can be built up to achieve a more dramatic/darker effect. The colour I received was ‘Sheer Mauve’ which is a cool-toned berry mauve. It is almost a darker version of my lip colour.
Texture: Easy to apply, creamy and quite slick. Almost feel like a lip balm. It gives a somewhat glossy appearance. Smell: There is a faint generic fruity smell, which I don’t find offensive. I have tried other famous brands in the past which smelt a lot worse. The lipstick itself does not have any taste/flavour.
Pigmentation: Quite good. Sheer on first application with good colour payoff when built up. I am more of a lip-gloss girl at heart, but I would not hesitate to buy it for my mother who is a lipstick-user.

The packaging wasn’t really remarkable. Not too flashy, but more than practical. The lipstick went on very smoothly. It felt deliciously soft and silky on my lips – much better than I’d expected from an Avon lipstick. I had the magenta dream colour which I found to be a very apt name. The colour is a true intense fuchsia/magenta.
It would be great for parties but not really appropriate for work. The texture was smooth and soft, the smell was quite appealing and subtle. I would probably buy it in a more versatile colour. The colour lasted well and didn’t get dry or flaky on my lips. I’d give this 4 stars. I thought it has great benefits – the SPF and the texture on the lips is heavenly – especially for the price! I’m sure if I found a more suitable shade I’d wear it every day!

A fantastic product to carry your summer glow into winter. I loved this bronzer as it is a beautiful colour, not too orange, not too ashy. It is better to apply it with a brush as it can be blotchy with a sponge or powder puff application.
With a brush the colour glides on to the skin smoothly giving you a very pleasant glow. It contains some very finely milled shimmer particles but you don’t really notice these once applied to the skin. All you see is a vibrant summer radiance. Great to use on arms, legs, shoulders and décolletage.

This is a great product that gave me beautiful colour and coverage without looking fake. It is very easy to use. You could use this instead of foundation to give yourself a bit of glamour. It is also great on the décolletage. I found this product very good value for money and I would highly recommend it.

I found this to be a very versatile product. As well as being able to apply it to visible body parts to give a subtle tanned look, it gives a nice natural glow to cheeks as a blusher and is a great way to give your face a refreshed look when you don’t have enough time to apply a full face of make up or when you want a subtle look. I did find that it was imperative to use a brush as using a puff created a heavy, blotchy appearance, a brush gave you more of an all over, smooth result. I would definitely purchase this product for myself. Good value for money!

I have never used this kind of bronzing powder myself, but saying this, it did have a nice glow and it did what it said on the product. It was a very good colour, and a nice compact case, it had a glow when applied, and so easy to use. Didn’t go brown all at once so I could apply as much, or as little as I wanted.

Nice soft dust that gives an even glow all over. I found it best to use with a soft brush instead of the sponge applicator. I would buy it again as I use a number of bronzing products and think this is good value.

It evened out my uneven olive complexion without having to apply foundation and then powder, and it is also nice and easy to use. It stayed on my face without it slipping off as a lot of foundations do. Gave a nice natural colour too. I would buy this in summer instead of a foundation and powder combination.
