I had the pleasure of using this machine for the last 3 months and I have to say I was very impressed with it. As a home use IPL machine I was interested to see first of all how easy it is to use and secondly how effective it is.
I have to say it was fantastic on both counts.
The machine comes with a very thorough instruction booklet which must be read before use. If you follow the instructions the operation of the machine is very easy.
With apprehension I booted up the machine, pressed it to my skin and pressed the button waiting for the unpleasant pain to hit me.  But to my surprise  it was not very painful at all. The sensation can be likened to someone flicking you with a small rubber band. A mild sting for half a second, then it’s gone. If you have ever had waxing done, this pain is much less then the pain of waxing.
I treated a few areas; legs, underarms and bikini line. After the first treatment I was interested to see the results and again I was very impressed.  The regrowth in the treated areas was noticeably reduced after only one treatment. The hair was growing back much sparser and thinner. I can see that you will need at least five or ix treatments to an area before the hair is permanently removed however this was such an easy process and so pain free that I personally would recommend it to anyone  looking for a permanent result. We already spend a fortune on waxing and shaving to remove hair, so why not have it gone completely!
Bellow is a picture of the results 3 weeks after treating one of my legs and the hair regrowth as opposed to the untreated leg. You can see a noticeable difference between the two, after which I was more than keen to have to other leg treated too!

Over all I thoroughly enjoyed using this machine and have seen noticeable results.

What was your first impression of the Products?
As a set the bright orange containers are striking and modern looking. The information on the packs is easy enough to read and digest. It inspires confidence in the product.

What was your experience using the Shampoo and Conditioner?
The first thing you notice is the beautiful citrus fragrance. The shampoo and conditioner are both easy to extract from their containers and apply. The shampoo has a rich lather and leaves your hair and scalp feeling squeaky clean. The conditioner again has the yummy smell and leaves your hair smooth and tangle free. There is no coated or greasy feeling and my hair, which is fine with loads of natural curl finishes up really soft with loads of bounce.

What benefit do these products have compared to others you have used in the past?
I really like the way my hair looks and feels after these products. I’m between lengths at the moment and that is difficult for styling but the bounce my curls get with these products makes life a lot easier. The other thing I noticed was my hair was so soft I loved running my fingers through it – no tangles! Lastly it felt and looked good enough to leave without any other styling products for every day ware.

Would you recommend these products to others? Why?
Yes, although these products are three times more expensive than the products I normally buy, they seem to be at least twice as good. If you have great hair and want to look after it you would want to use products like these. Also, the yummy citrus fragrance is a winner in the morning.

I really loved this eye-shadow. I didn’t know what to expect when I actually applied it. But I was pleasantly surprised. It left a lovely creamy matte finish and the colour was just amazing! Really well worth the price!

Great price for 2 eye shadows! The two colours really compliment each other.  A lighter shade for the entire eyelid and a darker shade to emphasise the eye. I really loved it!

The foundation was easy to apply, but I was disappointed with it. Currently I use Clinique Repair Wear and my fist impression was that this would be similar, as the texture was similar; both are rather thick. However when applied it gave a very light coverage. It was not enough to cover the fine broken capillaries in my cheeks. It did not mask any blemished. As this is marketed for mature skin I expected a better coverage, when in fact I think it is more suitable for younger women

How did you find the texture and smell of the Foundation?
The texture of this product was great, fairly thick and went on evenly

Did you notice any benefits from using this Foundation as opposed to others you have used in the past?
The product did not give me the coverage I needed, I only used it for one week and had to put other foundation over it. I did not notice any benefits

It tasted like creamed butter and sugar with vanilla essence – which I think the majority of the ingredients consisted of.  I followed the instructions but unfortunately I found the “scrub” too harsh for me and it actually split my lip

I can’t really see any benefit to this product. I would use a face scrub but would not purchase a separate scrub just for my lips

What were your first impressions of the Hair Care Range?

I liked the packaging on this range, it is obviously targeted to a younger buyer but didn’t put me off.

How did you find the application and use of the Products?
I really like the application of all the products. The shampoo and conditioner left my hair feeling clean and soft and smelling nice. The protein treatment gave my hair a good moisture boost and I like the fact that it is a quick and easy one to do in the shower rather than having to sit around with hot towels etc on your head.
The leave in moisturiser was good although maybe not as good as some I have previously used.

How did you find the texture and smell of the Products?
I really liked the texture and smell of these products. They were easy to use and apply although the leave in moisturiser was maybe a touch too runny.
These products were definitely better in my hair than a lot I have used in the past. They left my hair feeling soft and without too many dry ends.

If Price would be of no concern, would you purchase these products for yourself in the future?
I would definitely buy these products in the future.

6 Easy Steps To a Perfect Home Pedicure

There is nothing I enjoy more than a relaxing DIY pedicure on the weekend. It feels so luxuriant and pampering no to mention your feet will look sandal ready. A good pedicure can’t be rushed, can’t be hastily performed which is exactly the reason it is so indulgent. There are a few steps to make a pedicure truly pleasurable and lasting. Follow these steps and you too will be walking on gorgeous feet.

1  Soak It Up
Saturate a cotton ball with nail polish remover and remove old nail polish from your toenails. Gently press the cotton ball on the nail for a moment to soften the colour before wiping the nail to remove the polish. Fill a tub or bucket with warm water to soak your feet. You can add essential oils to the water for the fragrance; Rosemary and Peppermint to invigorate, lavender and Rose to relax or Tea Tree oil and Pine to help banish odours and infections. Another indulgence that I love is to add milk to the water which naturally exfoliates the skin and keeps it moist. The best thing is that it’s right in your fridge!

2 Scrub Away
Once the warm water has softened the skin on your feet, gently scrub the bottom of the feet concentrating on the harder areas such as the heels and balls of the foot.  Use an exfoliating foot scrub and pumice stone or diamond/glass file to really smooth the skin. Be careful not to exfoliate too much of the outer skin away. This thick layer acts as the body’s protection and scrubbing too much of it away can lead to problem. Always remember to be gentle with your skin and body.

3 Cuticle Control
After feet have soaked for a few minutes, dry them thoroughly, making sure to get between the toes, an area that can become a breeding ground for bacteria if not dried properly. Gently massage a cuticle cream into the cuticles, or use oils such as almond, avocado or olive oil. Softly push back the cuticles with an orange stick, but DON’T cut them since they provide protection between your nail and nail bed. Use the orange stick and lightly run it along the undersides of your toenails to clean them.
Finally, place a tiny drop of oil onto each nail and buff them to increase their strength and shine and rub a foot lotion into the whole foot and up the legs to have them nicely moisturised.
Close your eyes and relax for 10 minutes, allowing your skin to soak in the soothing lotion.

4 Short and Sweet
It’s much easier to cut thick toenails after soaking and moisturising them. Using nail clippers, trim the nails. Length is a personal preference, but make sure the nail is shorter than the toe. Be careful not to cut the nails too short as this can cause very painful ingrown toenails.
Use a nail file and shape your nails into a square shape and file them in one direction only. Sawing back and forth will weaken nails, causing them to split or break.

5 Precision Polishing
Saturate a cotton ball with nail polish remover and go back over your toenails, removing all lotions and oils. Press toe separators between the toes to stop them rubbing against each other and smudging the polish.
Next use a primer on the nails. This step actually dehydrates the nail by bringing the natural oils out, making the colour grip to the nail.  Then apply two coats of colour and finish with a top coat, which will help set the polish. Wait a couple of minutes and finish off with a quick dry spray or drops to avoid any smudging.

6 Keep Things Smooth
Keep your feet soft and your heels from cracking by massaging shea butter, coconut oil or Vaseline into them at night. Then put socks on so the skin can absorb the moisture even deeper overnight.

A full pedicure takes about 70 minutes: 50 minutes to prep the feet and apply polish and 20 minutes to dry. This is well worth the time not only for the pampering aspect of it but every time you look down and admire your well groomed footsies in your open toed sandals.
Your pedicure should last about 2 weeks or even longer if you apply more coats of topcoat. Have fun!

NAIR – WHERE, WHAT AND WHERE

No matter what age you are for some women, unwanted body hair is a fact of life. Ever since Cleopatra’s day, women have been fighting Mother Nature in the pursuit of smooth, baby-soft, hair free skin. There are various different types of at home hair removal products for different areas of the body and your choice of hair removal product may be based on the area of the body you wish to remove the hair or the method you prefer.

Without the right instructions on how to use them however, home hair removal products can be a bit daunting so by following the below step by step instructions, using at home hair removal products can be easy, cost effective and give you salon results.

HAIR REMOVAL METHODS
Nair offers a range of products for all needs and skin types.
1. LIQUID WAX
Waxing can be performed in a salon or at home and it means literally pulling hair out by the root with a “wax” that is able to grip onto hair. Waxes may be primarily beeswax, resin, or a sugar formulation. Typically, waxes are spread onto skin, a cloth  or non-woven material is pressed onto the wax, and the cloth and wax are quickly pulled off the skin, taking hair and root with it.
Application is simple, the results – incredible. Easy to prepare, by placing the wax pot in the microwave to melt it and then and applying to the skin with the tools provided.
Once the wax strip applied has hardened, pull up the edge of the strip and remove  from the skin quickly in the opposite direction of the hair growth.

2. WAX STRIPS
Easy to apply, and conveniently reusable, Nair wax strips are the fast, and effective way to achieve long-lasting, radiant skin that’s deliciously soft to the touch. The cold wax is already prepared on a clear cello strip. To use, simply warm the wax between the palms of your hands, peel the wax strips apart to create 2 wax strips and then press into the skin where you want to remove the hair. Hold the skin taught and zip back closely against the skin in the opposite direction to hair growth . If there is any wax residue left on the skin use the after care wipes to remove.

3. CREAM

Depilatories come in a variety of forms mainly creams. They work by breaking down hair with a high pH substance, which reacts with the protein structure of hair. The process of breaking down the hair usually takes between three and fifteen minutes but may vary with the product and the coarseness of the hair.
The effect of using a depilatory can be smoother skin, lasting days longer than when using a razor.

This is for three reasons.
1. Unlike a razor, a depilatory removes hair just below the skin’s surface.  Hairs emerge from pores in your skin – and depilatories are able to dissolve not only the hair you can see above the surface, but some of the hair in the pore. This means it takes longer for the hair to grow back to the surface. The timing depends on your hairs’ growth rate and growth cycle.
2. A depilatory acts as an exfoliant, meaning it removes unwanted dead (and often rough) skin cells on the surface of your skin. By removing dead skin cells (which are created every day), your skin feels softer and smoother.
3. Many depilatories (including all Nair® depilatories) contain moisturising ingredients, such as Baby Oil, Almond Oil and Aloe Vera. These contribute to softer smoother skin.

Gently removing hair from the most sensitive areas and moisturising as it works, Nair creams go below the skin surface, unleashing amazingly silky skin within minutes. To use a depilatory cream simply smooth the cream onto the skin in a thick even layer – not rubbing it into the skin. After 4 minutes test an area to check hair removal. If the hair does not move easily, leave for a few more minutes, however do not exceed 10 minutes. Remove the cream with a wet wash cloth then rinse the area immediately with warm water without soap.

What were your first impressions of the Cream?
Love the packaging – no messy pots to put fingers in

How did you find the application and use of the Cream?
Fantastic – the pump pack is great, easy to get the right amount out and it goes on nicely.
I was worried at first because of the spf – in the past products with spf seem to sting my eyes but this didn’t so I was very impressed.

Did you notice any benefits from using this Cream as opposed to other creams you have used in the past?
I have better sun protection than before as I normally only put on moisturizer and nothing else.

If Price would be of no concern, would you purchase this Cream for yourself in the future?
yes because of the spf factor.

Very easy to use, I love the pump pack
Nice not overpowering in smell and texture is good
Personally I can’t see any extra benefit by using this product
