Sadly summer is slowly coming to an end in the southern hemisphere although we still have a few remaining warm days ahead of us. But we couldn’t say goodbye to summer without going over a few of our favourite products that have helped and saved us in the height of summer. These products survived in our beach bags, our purses and makeup bags and of course in our bathrooms. Without further delay here our summer survivor products. Hope you agree with us and feel free to add your own favourites to this list.

1: Nivea Sun Light Feel Every Day Sun Lotion SPF30+ 200mL RRP $16.43
Our number one pick as this sunscreen really does feel light on the skin without that horrible greasy feel. At the beach or even using it every day, it soaks into the skin leaving it feeling light and non sticky.

2: Banana Boat Mineral Protect Sensitive SPF 30+ 120g RRP $ $15.75
Our number two pick is also a sunscreen as you can’t have enough of it during those hot sweltering days. We love this mineral sun cream because it’s a natural sun barrier without any chemical nasties in it to harm the skin and best of all it completely disappears into the skin without leaving an unattractive white ghostlike complexion.

Number three is a brilliant little product that keeps your lips looking moist and tinted. The formula stops the water from washing away the colour while swimming without drying out the lips. In fact my lips never felt so moisturised. Once back on dry land you can apply the gloss which has a little shimmer in it and even more moisturising properties. We simply fell in love with this one!

If you know the frustration of black sleeveless tops and dresses ruined by the unsightly white marks you will appreciate this brilliant deodorant that is guaranteed not to ruin your summer outfits. An absolute must for those important summer events when you not only have to look sharp but stay fresh too.

As you know in summer the skin tends to be oilier and of course the perspiration shows too. So as a must have ‘hand bag’ essential these oil blotting sheets are so handy. Every time I went into a restaurant or an air conditioned area after being outside these sheets saved me from looking like a sweaty mess.

Nothing says summer more than beautiful tanned skin. However these days you don’t even have to go in the sun to achieve the look. This lightweight gel cream not only builds up to a gorgeous tan but it also has a shimmering formulation so you can see exactly where you applied it and leaves a beautiful sheen behind. We just love this self tanner!

9: Gillette Venus ProSkin MoistureRich RRP $$13.99
This razor for the legs is really the best that you can get. Summer is harsh enough on your skin without adding the trauma of shaving. But this razor with it’s extra moisturising strip really soothes the skin so you can shave without the need of shaving creams. Brilliant for a quick touch up shave.

10: Carmex lip balm Click Stick with SPF 15 in Strawberry flavour RRP $4.99
In my humble opinion nothing says summer better than strawberry lip gloss. Especially if it comes with added sun protection like this one. This lip balm is so easy to wear and smells so fruity, it really is a staple in my summer bag.
